Why shea works (the quick version)
Shea butter is both emollient (softens rough, dry areas) and occlusive (helps seal in water after cleansing). Used on damp skin, it supports a calm, comfortable moisture barrier—especially in dry climates or after a hot shower.
What you’ll need (Sheri’s picks)
– Comfort Soap (gentle, skin-happy cleanse)
– Whipped Shea Butter (single- or double-essential-oil blend)
– Essential-Oil Body Spray (optional finishing mist)
– Soft washcloth + clean towel
AM Ritual (2–5 minutes)
1) Cleanse, don’t strip
- Use lukewarm water and Comfort Soap.
- Pat—not rub—skin dry so it stays slightly damp.
2) Nourish (pea-size per area)
- Melt a small amount of shea between palms.
- Press onto arms, legs, and any dry zones. Add a touch more for elbows, knees, and heels.
3) Seal & smooth
- Glide remaining shea over hands, cuticles, and neck/decolletage.
- If desired, finish with a one-spritz body spray for a light scent.
60-second mini-massage: Using both hands, make slow circles over calves, forearms, and shoulders.
PM Ritual (5–10 minutes)
1) Warm rinse + gentle cleanse.
2) Damp-skin rule: Towel off lightly. Apply shea within 2 minutes to trap water in the skin.
3) Targeted treatment: Heels & feet, hands, neck & chest.
4) Optional aromatherapy wind-down: lavender-forward body spray + 3 slow breaths.
Layering & Amounts (no greasy feel)
- Start with less than you think; add only where needed.
- If skin feels tacky, you’ve used too much—mist a little water or toner over top and press.
- For clothes that cling: buff with a dry washcloth.
Common mistakes (and easy fixes)
- Applying to dry skin → always leave skin slightly damp.
- Rubbing too vigorously → press and glide.
- Hot showers → keep it warm, not hot.
- Skipping hands & feet → biggest overnight payoff.
Patch test & care tips
- Patch test new essential-oil blends on the inner arm for 24 hours.
- Keep products away from eyes.
- Citrus oils can be sun-sensitive—use at night or cover skin.
